According to the reports, Missing Link is about a small-town police investigation. Earlier this year, Jaydeep Mukherjee said in an interview about this show that it is a small-town police investigation drama in which Anirban is playing the role of a Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) named Anirban Sengupta who procedures a murder.
The director also added that Missing Link is about the pressure that Bengal Police have to bear. He added that many people are aware of what kind of pressure the Bengal Police suburban or rural administration has to bear. Thus, he wondered why couldn’t police be humane even if they wanted to.
Like Ekenbabu, Anirban Sengupta will be franchised and confirmed by director Jaydeep. When the director was questioned if Anirban Sengupta would also return consistently like Ekenbabu to which he replied that they thought from the start and they would consistently show how the police or the people there get rid of any adverse situations by handling various pressures. Sameer Sengupta also had a few true stories and one of them Jaydeep has presented in this series with minor changes so that people can see the human face of the police.
When actor Anirban Chakrabarty gave his nod to play the role of a police officer, the director got the idea of further nourishing the character. To note, Jaydeep also emphasized that Missing Link will not become ‘Police File Se’ in Bengal.
As he wanted to narrate the story of a common man who works as a police officer, his series will not become Police File Se. Actor Anirban also shared about his character that he has acted as a cop in ‘FIR’ directed by Joydeepdar. Anirban Sengupta is a different kind of police officer. He is very humane and he enjoyed essaying this character. In this series, Loknath will be seen in the role of the accused of the crime while Satyam is playing the BDO.
