Actor Suriya and director Karthik Subbaraj joined hands for this period war action film. Karthik Subbaraj is widely recognized for directing Jigathanda Double X. In addition, Subbaraj will also co-produce this film along with Suriya. Thus the shooting of Suriya 44 will be commenced under the joined banner of Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Stone Bench Films. During the technical crew’s announcement, actor Suriya also revealed that the film’s background music will be composed by Karthik Subbaraj’s good friend Santhosh Narayanan.

He signed Shreyaas Krishna as the cinematographer of the film and Shafique Mohamed as the editor.
