Ntombelanga Pretty Labane emerged in the Amersfoort Magistrate’s Court after she was charged by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation also known as Hawks. As per the report, the local representative for the elite crime-busting unit, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi members of the Secunda-based serious commercial crime investigation on accusations of fraud arrested the lady fraud. On 1st September 2016, Labane applied for the business and accounting teacher job at Hlelimfundo Secondary School in Amersfoort. The lady submitted a CV, copies of a scheming matric certificate, a B-ED degree and SACE (SA Council for Educators) certifications to the school principal. Reportedly, the principal told the school Governing Body (SGB) about the decision taken by the school management team and the SGB also backed the decision. Sekgotodi also stated,” The management team selected Labane as a teacher, and then she was given an application document called EDU 1 to apply for the post. SGB members and the principal signed the application forms on 12 September 2016. The principal, circuit supervisor and district administrator were asked about a fraudulent matric certification and they said that they did not notice that it was fraudulent as they don’t have sensors to verify the validity of the documents.
