The actor said he recently completed a schedule of L2: Empuraan’s shooting in Ladakh and he is currently shooting for this film in Thiruvananthapuram. The makers of the film have several locations including Dubai, the UK, the US, Chennai, and Gujarat in the line-up to wrap up the shooting of the film by the end of this year. Mohanlal also revealed that he will soon go to Gujarat and Dubai for shooting, promising a spectacular action entertainer. He also promised to give an insight into his character in L2: Empuraan, named Khureshi Ab’raam.
During the latest episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam 6, Mohanlal unveiled the first-look poster of himself from the film L2: Empuraan. Since he revealed his look from L2: Empuraan, the fans are not able to control their adrenaline and taking over the internet to express their excitement. The first-look poster of L2: Empuraan featuring Mohanlal was unveiled on May 21, 2024, on the occasion of Mohanlal’s birthday. Mohanlal will appear in L2: Empuraan as Khureshi Ab’raam. The poster of the film shows Mohanlal wearing a dashing black jacket adorned with black jeans, a black t-shirt inside the jacket, and goggles on his eyes, while surrounded by armed security guards.
More about this film, it is said that Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan is a part of a trilogy and it will be a sequel to the superhit film Lucifer released in 2019. As per the reports, L2: Empuraan is a PAN-India film that will be released in multiple languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi as well. The director of the film is Prithviraj Sukumaran who is also portraying a role in the film. The film is presented by Aashirvad Cinemas and is being filmed under the banner of Lyca Productions.
Speaking of the ensembled star cast of L2: Empuraan, it features many renowned actors alongside Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran like Bobby Deol, Vivek Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Fazil from “Lucifer,” Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sharafudheen. Prithviraj will be seen as Zayed Masood, Bobby Deol as Abbas Akhtar, Karthikeya Dev as young Zayed Masood, Tovino Thomas as CM Jathin Ramdas, Toby Stephens as Marshal, Vivek Obroy as Bimal Nair aka Bobby. The release date of the film has not been finalized by the makers but the lead actor Mohanlal believes the film will be released either in December 2024 or January 2025.
