Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most-anticipated films of this year and probably one of the movies made on a budget of more than Rs 500 Crore. Yes, you read that right, the production house under which Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD is filmed, reportedly bankrolled around Rs 600 Crore so that the director does not have to compromise with the need for scene and this film can emerge as a gamechanger in their career. Nevertheless, Kalki 2898 AD means a lot to everyone who is associated with the film whether he is an actor or a crew member. Recently, the lead cast members of the film, the director, and the producer attended a promotion meeting where a large crowd gathered to see a glimpse of the leading actors. To note, the makers of the film have kickstarted the promotions of the film as the film is approaching its new release date.
Kalki 2898 AD Pre-Release Event
Previously, Kalki 2898 AD was scheduled to be released in theaters on May 9, 2024, but the makers decided to push the release date of the film to June 2024 due to some unfinished work and they could get enough time for the promotions of the film. Now, the film is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 27, 2024. Interestingly, the makers are following SS Rajamouli’s strategy to promote the PAN-India film, Kalki 2898 AD. As the film features superstars from both Bollywood and the South Indian film industry, like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, the makers have to take care of both North Indian fans and South Indian fans.
While promoting the film at an event, Bahubali actor Prabhas also introduced an important character in the film called Bujji, Prabhas’s character’s assistant. Taking the excitement of the fans for Kalki 2898 AD to a whole new level, the makers assigned South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh to voice Bujji’s character. The newly released promo features Bujji which is a robot that interacts with Bhairava (Prabhas) to inform him that the mission he has to complete is impossible. But still, Bujji explains the probability or chances of being successful in this missing. In the highly anticipated promo, Prabhas rides a batmobile-like vehicle. After giving a glimpse of an action-packed dystopian world, the promo ends with the new release date of Kalki 2898 AD. As mentioned, the film is now scheduled to hit the theaters on June 27, 2024.
Sarcastically, Prabhas says during the promotions that he was being tortured for 3 years by director Nagi with this Bujji as he tagged him to Bujji and he prefers Bujji’s body but her brains ate him away. Later, Prabhas also expressed his gratitude toward the legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan for playing crucial roles in his film. The superstar also apologized to his fans for the distant boundaries and guarded fencing due to security reasons. Prabhas also shared his experience of working with legendary actors like Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, as these two actors inspire the whole nation.
Speaking of Kalki 2898 AD’s star-studded cast, it features Prabhas in the lead role, Deepika Padukone as the lead female actress, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in key roles. Kindly note that Saswata Chatterjee and Pasupathy are also part of the film’s star cast. This film is helmed by Nag Ashwin who wrote and directed the film under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies which produced the film with a budget of Rs 600 crore. This sci-fi action thriller film is edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and Santhosh Narayan has crafted the music of the film. Kalki 2898 AD will be released on June 27, 2024.
