Delhi Police registered an FIR in Amit Shah’s fake video under Various Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and IT Act.

According to Spirit of Congress’ X handle, Arun Reddy is All India Congress Committee (AICC) National Coordinator for social media. He has over 120K followers.

Amid the arrest of Arun Reddy, Congress leader Manickam Tagore said that the arrest has been over 24 hours but there has been no information disclosed by the police.  “We demand the immediate release of Arun. This authoritarian misuse of power by the regime is condemnable,” Tagore wrote.

Arun Reddy also holds the post of National Coordinator, Social Media Wing, Telangana. According to reports, he deleted the evidence from his mobile phone. The cell phone is being sent for forensic examination. He’s accused of circulating edited videos.

The accused individuals were brought before the court, where bail was granted under specific conditions, including the provision of sureties and regular appearances before the investigating officer. The police, acting on the complaint, invoked relevant sections of the law, including those pertaining to forgery, spreading rumors, and disseminating false information.

They were asked to deposit a personal bond of Rs.10,000 each with two sureties and the court directed them to appear before the Investigation Officer every Monday and Friday till further orders.

However, during his address at a public meeting in Congress-ruled Telangana, Shah said, “If the BJP forms the government here, we will withdraw the unconstitutional reservations to Muslims. We will ensure that the SCs, STs and OBCs get quotas as guaranteed under the Constitution.”

The arrests were made in connection with the case registered on a complaint by BJP state General Secretary, G. Premender Reddy, in which he stated that the Telangana Congress Pradesh Congress Party in its X account posted morphed/fabricated video of Home Minister Shah.
