Mumbai: Mohammad Siraj, Team India’s power bowler and the top bowler in ODIs, has turned 29 today. Siraj was born in Hyderabad. The journey from being the son of an auto driver to a key bowler for Team India was not easy for him. Siraj’s childhood was spent in extreme poverty due to poor conditions at home. His first earnings in cricket were Rs.500.

Siraj Cricket Career

So far Mohammad Siraj has played 18 Tests, 21 ODIs and 8 T20Is for India. During this period he has taken 47, 38 and 11 wickets respectively. He has achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets in a Test match. Siraj is also bowling well in IPL. He has taken 59 wickets in 65 IPL matches. Siraj is currently part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad with Team India. Siraj has been rested from the 4th India-Australia Test as he has to play the next 3 ODIs against Australia.
