As we earlier mentioned, the Mumbai International Film Festival also known as MIFF is one of the oldest and most highlighted festivals. It is organized by the Films Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. However, the 18th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival is going to be held, confirmed by Sanjay Jaju on Friday. In addition, Sanjay Jaju, the Union information and broadcasting secretary also announced that the festival will also take place in different states of India. The 18th edition of the festival will start with the screening of National Geographic’s documentary “Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story”. For the recent edition, the organizer gained 1018 films from 38 countries and in almost 65 languages. The awards and prizes are divided into three different categories.
The first one is International competition, the second is National competition and the last is technical awards. For the latest edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival, there are 118 movies are selected. The International possesses 25 movies, the National has 77 and the rest are 16 for MIFF Prism. Along with awards, the special prizes will also curated. Furthermore, the first one will have 12 short movies selected from the Oscars and Berlin Film Festival. The including countries are Belarus, Italy, Iran, Japan, Russia, Vietnam, and Mali. On the other side, four countries are involved in the list of animation films for notable packages. The countries are France, Slovenia, Argentina, and Greece.

The above-mentioned jury will award the Golden Conch for the best documentary film. They will select the best short film, animation, documentary, and debut film for the award which is sponsored by the Maharashtra government. On the other side, the Best Student Film award is sponsored by the Indian Documentary Producers Association. In addition, the technical awards are divided into three different parts such as in cinematography, editing, and sound design.
