The distress of the residents of the Prime Minister’s residences

Vidisha. Beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s residence built near Muktidham in the city have to climb 20 to 60 steps to make arrangements for water in their homes. This progression has been going on for about five months after the house allotment. Here, the work of laying the pipeline for water system started about two months ago, but this two km pipeline has not been laid even in two months. Residents say that if the pipeline work is not done be completed soon, In the future, this problem of carrying water will become more painful due to increasing heat.
It may be known that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, work is going on for many years on the project of preparing about 864 houses near Muktidham, but most of the buildings are incomplete. In October, the municipality had ceremonially allotted houses to around 84 beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s residence after getting some of the buildings fully ready, but basic facilities of water, electricity and roads are still not available to them this. Because of this, a large number of beneficiaries are still in the queue to get houses and those beneficiaries who get houses are also forced to live in rented houses due to the lack of facilities in these houses.

The pipeline was expected to start
Bearing in mind the problem of the residents’ drinking water, the work of laying the pipeline began in January. This raised the hope of the residents that they would be able to get tap water in their homes, but this work has been stopped for several days. In such a situation, NAPA has kept a water tanker standing permanently under these buildings. Every day another tanker comes and fills this tanker with water. And people carry water from plastic cane buckets all day. According to the information received from NAPA, a total of 1800 meters of pipeline have to be laid and so far only about 330 meters of pipeline have been laid. The work has been completed due to payment of around 5 lakhs to the contractor.

No electricity facility and road
The road to get to these houses is also unpaved and potholed. Children fall off bikes and it’s hard to ride two wheels when it rains a little. Sunil Katare, Kapil Tamarkar, Vishal Rawat, Satish Lodhi are all worried about these basic facilities and keeping in mind the coming summer, they express their expectation that the water and electricity system should be completed soon.
