Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the Uddhav Thackeray faction in the Supreme Court, said that MLAs belonging to Shinde faction can escape disqualification under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution only if they merge the splinter faction with another party. . He said that there was no other way to save him. At the same time, in the last hearing, Eknath Shinde’s lawyer had said that the allegation of disqualification against us is wrong. We are still Shiv Sainiks.

Let us tell you that the dispute in the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra started on June 20, when suddenly 15 and about 10 independent MLAs of the party under the leadership of Minister Eknath Shinde in the state government reached Guwahati via Surat. After this, the political drama went on for several days and claims and counter claims were made from both the sides. Eventually the Shinde faction claimed to be with 39 of the 55 Shiv Sena MLAs, following which Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of CM. After this the Shinde faction formed the government in alliance with the BJP, in which Eknath Shinde became the CM and Devendra Fadnavis became the deputy chief minister.
