During the press conference where he demonstrated the living skin of the humanoid robot, he added that the designed skin’s strong adherence and flexibility allow it to move without peeling and ripping. Reportedly, the researcher used collagen for adhesion and plasma treatment facilitated in the robot’s mechanics. Instead of encouraging the development, the University of Tokyo’s professor recognized the intricacy of the process and underlined the difficulties in preparing the living skin for the humanoid robots including tissue death and bacterial infection.
