Weekend Traffic: Marathon and construction will result in multiple road closures in MontrealNews WAALI

Major road closures at the Turcot and Saint-Pierre interchanges, as well as other major routes in and around Montreal, make avoiding these areas a smart idea for commuters looking to avoid headaches and brake lights.

The Montreal Beneva Marathon will also result in several road closures on Saturday and Sunday.

ROUTE 132 / BOULEVARD MARIE VICTORIN (IN BROSSARD)

The following closures apply from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.:

  • In Brossard, take Route 132 eastbound between Exit 53 (A-10, Sherbrooke, Samuel De Champlain Bridge, Montreal) and the nearest entrance.
  • In Brossard, take Route 132 westbound between Exit 76 (Simard Blvd.) and Rivard Blvd.

Therefore, the following standard closures are:

  • The east entrance of Marie Victorin Boulevard, east of Rivard Boulevard and Rome Boulevard.
  • The east and west ramps of Highway 10.
  • The western entrance to Route 132 at the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge.
  • Marie Victorin Blvd. West, between boulevards Simard and Rome.

EXPRESSWAY VILLE-MARIE (R-136) / EXCHANGE TURCOT

The following closure applies from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.:

  • The Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) eastbound between the Turcot interchange and the Notre-Dame and de la Cathédrale entrances in the Ville-Marie Tunnel.
Closures in the Ville-Marie tunnel from 23 to 26 September 2022.

As a result, as of Friday at 11:30 p.m., the following default closures will apply:

  • At the Turcot Interchange, three on-ramps run north from Highway 15, east from Highway 20, and south from the Decarie Expressway (A-15) toward downtown.
  • Pullman Boulevard. Entry.
  • The Highway 20/Route-136 East reserved lane between the Turcot Interchange and Exit 2 (Atwater Avenue).

EXCHANGE SAINT-PIERRE

The following closure applies from Friday at 11:59 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.:

  • At the interchange, take the Route 138 East ramp (from the Honoré Mercier Bridge) to Highway 20 West / Airport.

Therefore, the Clement St. entrance is closed by default from Friday 11:00 p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m

MOTORWAY 40 (VILLE SAINT-LAURENT)

The following closures apply from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.:

  • The Highway 40 West service road after the Décarie interchange between Devonshire Rd.oad and Alexis-Nihon Blvd.

Therefore, the following standard closures are:

  • At the Decarie Interchange, the Decarie Expressway (A-15) joins Highway 520 West.
  • Highway 40 West Exit (65) (A-520).

HIGHWAY 15 (LA PRAIRIE)

From Friday 7 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. the following route change applies:

  • Two out of three lanes will be closed on Highway 15 southbound between Matte Blvd. Exit (50) and the entrance to Route 134 (Tasseleau Blvd.).

As a result, from 6:30 p.m. the following standard closings are:

  • Mat Blvd. Entry.
  • Exit Salaberry St. (46).

EXPECTED

  • In Montreal (Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough), Notre-Dame St. is westbound on Dicson Ave. closed from Saturday at 9:00 a.m. to Sunday at 7:00 p.m
  • In Montreal (district of Ville-Marie), De Lorimier Ave. southbound on Notre-Dame St. East closed Friday 10:00 p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m
  • One lane will open in each direction on René-Lévesque Blvd in Montreal (City of Ville-Marie). between Plessis St. and Papineau Ave., from Saturday at 7 a.m. to Sunday at 7 p.m

SPECIAL EVENT

In Montreal (Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Rosemont-La Petite Patrie), Saturday and Sunday presentation of the Montreal Beneva Marathon. Road closures and no parking apply.

  • In Montreal, the westbound Ville-Marie Tunnel (R-136) will have the right lane closed between Panet St. and Saint-Urbain St. until the end of 2023 on Sunday evening.
  • In Longueuil (arriving at Le Vieux-Longeuil), alternate traffic on the R-112, between Victoria Ave. and Saint-Georges St., Saturdays and Sundays between 6:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. for paving work.
