The Lahore High Court has stayed the ongoing police operation to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan until 10am tomorrow.
An application was filed in the Lahore High Court against the police operation to arrest Imran Khan, which was heard by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh. Advocate General Punjab Shan Gul appeared in the court.
The petition was filed by Fawad Chaudhry through his lawyer Khawaja Tariq Rahim, where it was argued that basic human rights are affected by tear gas shells. A shilling affects the people of Zaman Park badly. The law was violated in the execution of Imran Khan’s arrest warrant.
Khawaja Tariq Rahim said Zaman Park has become a war zone as seen in movies.
Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh asked Khawaja Tariq if there was an application in the Islamabad High Court as well. To which lawyer Khawaja Tariq replied that the application was intended to suppress the arrest warrant.
The court adjourned the hearing ordering the Chief Secretary, IG Punjab to appear before the court by 3pm.
The hearing resumed after the break. IG Punjab appeared in the court. He said vehicles were burnt with petrol bombs. This has been true since morning. Ruined green belt. Damaged things. We have to catch the people who damaged government property. The court would have canceled the warrant and we would have returned.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh said that PSL is also happening in the city. I want peace in the city. You should stop your operation now. The application is also pending in the Islamabad High Court.
During the hearing, Shah Mehmood Qureshi came to the rostrum and said that IG Punjab was not telling the truth. We are ready to surrender in the court. There are only safety concerns.
The Lahore High Court summoned the parties at 10am tomorrow and said that the PSL will also be held. By then, the decision of the Islamabad High Court will also come.
The court ordered the police to suspend the operation until 10am tomorrow.
