The brutal murder of an elderly mother and older brother under the influence of alcohol

Baparde incident, accused in custody

Mrs Shobha Murari Sakpal (80) and Mahendra Murari Sakpal (56) living in Baparde Sakpalwadi in Devgad taluka were brutally murdered by suspect Bharat Murari Sakpal (50) in a drunken state around midnight on Monday. They were both beaten to death with a stick by putting ash from the stove in their mouths.

In this case, Devgad Police Inspector Neelkanth Bagle and his colleagues have reached the spot. Accused Bharat Sakpal has been detained by the police. The suspect had recently served his sentence for murdering his wife by hitting her on the head with a helmet in 2008. After serving his sentence, Baparde lived with his mother and elder brother in a house in Sakpalwadi. He is believed to have killed his mother and brother after a drunken fight on Monday night.
