Thane News | Road collapsed and cracks occurred in 25 shops during the work of security wall under construction of railway
Thane : A road collapsed in the area near the Parsik Nagar Railway Tunnel in Kalwa. Due to which cracks have come in at least 25 shops here. However, there is no report of any injury in this incident.
Avinash Sawant, head of the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, said that there is a Parsik Tunnel on the Central Railway route. A wall is being constructed by the railways and excavation work was going on for it which led to cracks. He said, “During excavation, a portion of a nearby road collapsed due to which 25 shops developed cracks. Sawant said that more fire officials of the Municipal Corporation had reached the spot to review the situation. At the same time, Mahesh Salvi, a former corporator here, says that a large number of trains are moving daily through this tunnel. But the security wall next to the railway track at the bottom of the hill was dug up two months ago. So that a new security wall can be built. But till now the wall has not been built. The shop located on either side of the track has been shaken by the vibrations caused by the movement of trains. Due to which there is an atmosphere of fear among the local citizens. At the same time, local MLA and former state home construction minister Jitendra Awhad has blamed the railway administration and management for this situation.
There are many societies, shops and roads etc. around the Parsik Railway Tunnel. Whose ground is shaken. Such a situation has come due to the pit dug to build a safety wall on both sides of the track. Local citizens say that the pits were dug 2 months ago for the construction of the security wall. But till now the work of its construction could not be done. Due to which the pit has become a headache for the local citizens. The ground floor of 25 shops of Parsik Nagar has been badly shaken and cracked.
Correspondence already done to Railway Administration
Regarding this matter, local MLA Jitendra Awhad says that repeatedly correspondence was made with the railway administration regarding this, but no initiative was taken by the railways. Awhad himself also reached that place. Where dozens of shops have laughed and laughed. At the same time, in view of this situation, danger marks have been put on 25 shops on behalf of the objection management room of Thane Municipal Corporation. The officers and engineers of Kalwa Division Committee were also present on the occasion.
