Tajbagh | FIR on 2 including Sheikh Hussain, 1.59 crore scam in Tajbag Trust
Nagpur. Sakkardara Police has registered a case against Congress leader Sheikh Hussain Abdul Jabbar (68) and Iqbal Ismail Baleji (50), a resident of Rajnagar, who came into the limelight for making objectionable remarks about PM Narendra Modi during a program recently. Both are accused of embezzlement of Rs 1.59 crore while living in Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust Committee.
The case has been registered on the complaint of the current secretary of the trust, Taj Ahmed Ali (54). From 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2016, Sheikh Hussain was the chairman of the trust, while Iqbal Baleji took over as the secretary. It is alleged that during their tenure, both committed a financial scam in the trust without taking any permission from the Endowment Commissioner. The dealings of the trust were not even audited at that time.
Hussain transferred Rs 1.48 crore from the account of the trust, while Iqbal transferred Rs 11.52 lakh to his account. The dispute went on for a long time regarding the executive of the trust. As soon as the new executive took over, all the accounts of the trust were audited, in which it was revealed that Husain and Iqbal had digested huge amounts. With the detailed report, Taj Ahmed complained to the Sakkardara police. After investigation, the Sakkardara police have registered a case of cheating against both of them.
