Solapur : Today, Rangpanchami excitement is witnessed in the state. Rangpanchami is celebrated in different ways in every district. Similarly, today in Solapur district, a procession of colored floats is held every year on behalf of the Lodhi community and colors are thrown on the citizens of Solapur. In these paint carts, paint is sprayed from a pump filled with paint water using sprayers and balloons. A procession of colored floats is taken out on behalf of the Lodhi community in Solapur and it is said that this has been a tradition in Solapur for 150 years. People from all castes and religions can be seen participating in Rangpanchami in these color cart processions. Rangpanchami is celebrated in Solapur with more than 150 to 200 bullock carts overflowing with colors.
