Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Faisal Sabzwari had announced a waiver of port charges for the goods.

Earlier, trade bodies had caught a shortage of pulses in the country.

In a statement, the President of the Saddar wholesale market had warned authorities that the country would face a serious shortage of pulses, if the containers were not immediately cleared from the port.

He said hundreds of containers were stuck at the ports and the prices of pulses increased by Rs100 per kg due to that. “The government has yet to implement its decision to waive the port charges,” he added.
