Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has expressed anger over the arrest of senior journalist Ankababu by the CID police. Want to arrest journalists? He condemned the state government. He criticized the arrests as evidence of the government’s authoritarianism.

CID officials arrested 73-year-old senior journalist Kollu Ankababu from his residence in Vijayawada on Thursday (September 21) night. It seems the authorities have arrested Ankababu for forwarding messages on WhatsApp. Ankababu, who worked as a journalist in a daily newspaper for a long time, was forcibly arrested at his home and served a notice to his wife. Many journalists are demanding that Ankababu be released immediately, saying he was unjustly arrested.

Pawan questioned whether it was wrong for Anka Babu to share information regarding the illegal movement of gold at the Gannavaram airport in his WhatsApp group of journalists. Pawan also alleged that CID officials did not follow Supreme Court guidelines during the actual arrest of Ankababu.

Police arrested Ankababu for sharing just one post.. Pawan asked why they don’t arrest ranks of Vice-RCP who post inappropriate comments on leaders and judges. He said that all the people of the state remember how the CID officials investigated the case of posting to humiliate the High Court judges. Pawan also reminded that still some people have not been arrested in this case.

TDP leader Chandrababu said the government has violated fundamental rights in the case of Ankababu’s arrest and has acted in a way that interferes with freedom of speech and freedom of the press. He clarified that if anything happens to Ankababu, it will be the responsibility of the police department. They wrote to the DGP to release Ankababu immediately.
