Supreme Court on Monday one rank one pension (OROP) policy has taken a strict stand and said that the Ministry of Defense will have to withdraw its notification. In it it must be stated what progress has been made in terms of pension arrears granted under Pension One Rank One and what steps have been taken.

Attorney General R Venkataramani, appearing for the government, told the court that out of 28 lakh applications, 7 lakh were approved. He told the court that there are many difficulties with paperwork in this regard, which the Ministry of Defense is involved with. The court assured that the first installment of the pension would be released before March 31. The Supreme Court has fixed the date of March 20 for the next hearing of the case.
Time was given until March 15
Explain that the Supreme Court, when hearing the matter on January 9, gave time until March 15 for the government to pay the pension arrears. Meanwhile, a letter was issued by the Ministry of Defense in which it was said that it was making the due payment in four installments.

As soon as this letter was published by the government, the veterans got angry and then reached the Supreme Court. After this, while hearing the matter, the Supreme Court said when we have already given orders in this regard, then how can you order payment in four installments.
