According to the petitioner, the department had issued advertisements for the post of dietician, in which the requirement of a degree in B.Sc. Home Science was implemented for this post. But the surprising thing is that such people who did not have this degree were also included in the list of merit by the department.

The petitioner was of the view that even the employer authority does not have the right to change the eligibility conditions once given in the advertisement. An objection was lodged on behalf of the petitioner regarding this, but the department deferred to take a decision on it, which was going to have adverse consequences on the career of the petitioner. Orders were given by the court to decide on this objection. But the order was not complied with which forced the contempt petition to be filed. After the hearing, the court issued the said order.
