In many parts of the earth, the incidence of severe drought, excessive rainfall and flooding is continuously increasing. This information was revealed in a new study published in the Nature Water Journal of the American Space Agency NASA.

Scientists continue to predict the frequency and severity of drought and flood events due to global warming and climate change, but this is difficult to prove on a regional and continental scale, the study said. The research of two NASA scientists has confirmed the estimates and predictions made earlier.

Research has been done on the data received for 20 years

This information was revealed in the study of 1,056 extreme rain and dry events between 2002 and 2021 by the NASA/German GRACE and GRACE-FO satellites by two NASA scientists Rodale and Belling Lee. The Earth’s gravity field is calibrated to detect water storage anomalies from these satellites.
