The Chief Justice of Sindh High Court asked the Election Commissioner when the election will be held? You should do it in phases, Hyderabad in the first phase and Karachi in the second. Elections will have to be held. We give orders to the IG to provide security. In how many days are you holding the election in Karachi Division? These are the orders of the Supreme Court.

Chief Election Commissioner of Sindh replied that we are ready to conduct the election. The court said why are they insulting the court by violating the orders of the Supreme Court, if the elections cannot be held simultaneously, they should be held in phases.

The Chief Justice told the State Election Commission that you are breaking the law yourself, aren’t the police giving you an escort?

As much force as you want will be provided, IG Sindh

Election Commissioner Sindh said that we are ready to conduct elections, and police and interior minister should provide security. The Chief Justice asked whether the election would be held in Karachi Division in how many days? Election Commissioner Sindh Ejaz Chauhan said that the elections will be held in the next 15 days.

IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon said that as much force as required will be provided.

If the Election Commission does it tomorrow, we are ready for that too, Government of Sindh

Advocate General Sindh said it is the job of the Election Commission and not the provincial government to conduct elections. We have held the first phase election and are still ready to hold it. If the Electoral Commission does it tomorrow, we are ready for that too, but we have told the facts on the ground, neither the police nor Rangers can provide assurance.

MQM lawyer Tariq Mansoor said we should also be heard. Chief Justice asked MQM lawyer whether you want elections or not. Do you want an election? Advocate Tariq Mansoor said you should see this application.

The Chief Justice said, “We don’t want this child. Tell us, what do you want?” The court prevented Khawaja Izhar from speaking. The Chief Justice said that Khawaja Sahib should sit down, the former Mayor Sahib should also sit down.

The MQM-Pakistan lawyer said that our main concern is that a transparent election cannot be held without the amendments.

The court asked what is your problem. Giving stand, Advocate Tariq Mansoor said that applications related to Pakistan MQM constituencies and voter lists are pending.

The Chief Justice said you want the election to be held later before you resolve the issues? You want no election? Are you saying no election before the amendments?

The MQM lawyer said that we want the Supreme Court’s decision to empower local bodies to be implemented.

PTI lawyer Abdul Wahab Baloch said that the election has been postponed 3 times. They say there is a shortage of personnel and 6,000 personnel were sent to Islamabad for the long march.

Jamaat-e-Islami lawyer Usman Farooq Advocate took the position that the Supreme Court had rejected a similar application by MQM and PTI. The Supreme Court has rejected all these points where the petition was tried to stop the election. MQM had said in the Supreme Court that the election should be stopped until the amendments are made. The Supreme Court had ordered the Electoral Commission to hold the local elections immediately. The High Court can be approached to hold the election, but an application cannot be made to stop it.

The court reserved the decision after hearing the parties’ arguments.

Speaking to the media after the hearing, Waseem Akhtar said that if PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami were sincere, they should have raised noise after I got rid of me. The Act, in which no powers have been given, has been supported by Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI.

MQM leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan said that even if the entire Pund dies, the Mayor of Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI would not come.

An interesting scene was witnessed during Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Amir’s press conference. MQM leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan hugs Hafiz Naeemur Rahman as the press conference begins.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman responded enthusiastically to Khawaja Izharul Hasan and said that thankfully today Izharbhai did not say that the only answer is Jamaat-e-Islami.

Speaking Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that MQM wants elections to be held. We understand that the city is about to be destroyed. 17, the project has been delayed for 17 years. The city has no heir. Under these circumstances, when the election is announced, they say there is no election, it’s a shame. MQM people say there are no options. He has been governor for 14 years. Electric mafia from all parties are mixed together. An illegal administrator has been done, now MQM says we should also have an administrator, it is 6 months since the change in regime, MQM did this work with PPP.

PTI leader and leader of opposition Haleem Adil Sheikh said in a media interview that the Election Commission is in collusion with the Sindh government and its affiliated parties. After the defeat in the by-elections, the allies of the imported government want to run away from the local elections. 6 thousand police personnel have been sent to Islamabad but there is no police to conduct the election, MQM is now zero. All of them are fleeing the municipal elections.
