MP News: Bhopal (New World Rep.). Tourism and Culture Minister Usha Thakur flagged off national athlete and mountaineer Asha Rajubai’s Malawi Cycle Yatra from her residence in the capital on Tuesday evening. Ms. Asha will undertake a 20,000 km cycle trip to promote tourism destinations in Madhya Pradesh and visit several states of the country. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the youth of the state are showing their talent all over the country, especially girls are doing admirable work in every field. The state government is also making all efforts to encourage girls. Asha was gifted a bicycle and kit by the MP Tourism Board. Wishing them success in their journey. Additional Managing Director Vivek Shrotriya said that the Tourism Board has contributed to the cycling trip with the aim of increasing awareness of the state’s natural beauty, rich history and culture across the country. The 11-month-long journey will cross 29 states across the country and reach New Delhi next year, where the journey will end on 29 September 2023.

Yatra route map in MP: According to the information received from the tourism department, this yatra will pass through six districts and eight cities of MP. The trip will be in MP for about 8 days. Among them it departs towards Gujarat via Sihore, Ashta, Dewas, Ujjain, Indore, Dhar, Jhabua.

Even though he lost his father when he was young, he did not lose heart

Asha, a 24-year-old athlete living in Khichlipur (Rajgarh), says she has a younger sister and a mother in her family. Father died when he was young. Following this, his family was supported by former SP reader Omprakash Sharma. He did PG in BPD-Bachelor of Physical Education. A month ago, he sent a proposal to the tourism department to visit the country on a bicycle and asked them to cooperate with the trip. The department has given its consent and provided bicycle kits and other safety equipment. He said he had climbed the mountain before.
