KTR was the Chief Guest at the State Level Bathukamma Saree Distribution Launch Program held at Sirisila and distributed sarees. KTR said the government is distributing sarees on the occasion of Bathukamma festival to bring smile on the faces of girls from poor families and provide work to the weavers of Sirisila. He said that every year behind Bathukamma sarees Rs. 300 crore is spent. Handloom workers are given 40 percent yarn subsidy and maramgam workers are given 10 percent yarn subsidy. He said that they have set up Juki Mesha Jan Samardaka Training Center in Tax Tile Park. It is said that 8 to 10 thousand women will soon be employed in the apparel park.
He said that Tirupur, a neighboring state of Tamil Nadu, exports textiles worth 40 thousand crore rupees to the world market every year. He said that he is branding Sirisila sarees under the name Rajanna Siripattu in New Zealand. He said that with the blessings of CM KCR, he would improve his skills and prepare Sirisils for Tirupur with new ideas.
KTR mentioned that public representatives will come from village to village and Vadawada and distribute sarees. A scheme has come out to give Rs.3 lakh to those who have space to build a double bedroom house. Meanwhile, Gift a Smile program was held at Sirisila Government Junior College. KTR distributed digital tabs to 850 inter students. Sirisila said that 6 thousand students in 13 mandals will be given tabs and free software will be given with the support of Akash Baiju.
