The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted raids in 5 different parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. This raid has been carried out against the network linked to the international terrorist group ISIS. The NIA is said to be looking for Maulana Abdul Aziz Salafi and his gang, who are teaching fundamentalism to the youth through provocative videos on YouTube. During this raid on Saturday (March 11, 2023), many such documents were found, from which evidence was found that Maulana’s gang was anti-India.

According to media reports, 40-year-old Maulana Abdul Salafi and his henchmen are linked to the Khorasan network of ISIS operating in Afghanistan. The imam of the Jamia Masjid in Shivni district of Madhya Pradesh is a Salafi. At the same time, the name of Shoaib, aged 26, comes as the second big name of this network. Shoaib has an auto parts shop. Both have been accused of hating Indian democracy and inciting others not to participate in voting.

Maulana Salafi and Shoaib are said to show provocative YouTube videos to Muslim youth. These two accused consider it a crime for Muslims to participate in voting. NIA has found in preliminary investigation that Maulana Salafi network is closely monitoring the activities of ISIS in Afghanistan. Along with this, this group tries to encourage more and more of its thinking in other Muslim youth as well. It was also claimed that he found some documents and other evidence in this regard in the NIA search.

Searches have been conducted at the locations of Talha Khan in Pune and Akram Khan in Seoni who were found to be linked to this network. Apart from this, the houses and shops of Maulana Abdul Aziz Salafi and Shoaib Khan have also been searched. The NIA has allegedly taken Maulana Abdul Aziz Salafi and Shoaib into custody and interrogated them. This investigation was conducted in Jabalpur where he was released. After that he was called to Bengaluru by sending a notice.

The probe agency came to know about this network after the Delhi police questioned the Kashmiri couple Zeb Shami and Hina Bashir, who were arrested from Okhla. This Kashmiri couple’s connection with the Islamic State was discovered. The name of another accused Abdullah Basith associated with this gang has also surfaced. Abdullah has already been lodged in Tihar Jail in another case.
