The Karnataka High Court has struck out rape charges against a estranged lover after five years of physical relationship. Hearing the case on Monday, the court said that it cannot be said that a young man has been in a relationship with a woman for five years without her consent.

Giving the verdict in the case, Justice M Nagaprasanna of the High Court said, ‘In this case the consent was taken not once, not twice, not three times, not for days or months, but for years, for five years full Yes.’
