On March 11, Minister Gulab Devi had arrived at the check dam foundation stone laying program at Sambhal village Budhnagar Khandwa. A video of the ceremony has been shared on social media, where Rana questions the minister, ‘(before the election) you said this is my own village (Budnagar Khandwa, where the event was being held maintain). You had sworn while standing on the temple that this village is mine, I belong to this village. You had also told the elders of this village, whatever work needs to be done, tell me, I will do it. You said, if I win this time, I will come again to this village, even after this you did not come to this village again.

Rana further says, ‘There is not a single barat ghar in Budhnagar, and there is no arrangement of toilets by the government here either. And you had said that you will get this paved road from the temple (saying with hand gesture), I will get the paved road in Khadanja, so far this road is so unpaved that even pedestrians get upset after taking it from the bike… You had also said that I will build the boundary of the Mother Goddess temple as well, you had not heard of it until now. The villagers had also put a lot of pressure, they had also gone to your office, and there too they were not heard. Tell me, what would you say about this?’

Rana Mike takes the minister towards Gulab Devi, meanwhile a woman from behind says, ‘Are you promoting yourself or keeping a problem?’ Rana replies that he asked to be told the problem. The minister interrupts and says, ‘Ask me by when you will be doing the work there.’

Talking to the woman who is not visible on camera, Rana further says that what you will do if public voice does not reach you, you say the work is done, what will you do when the work is not done. On this, she asks the female public who all agree with this. Rana repeats his questions in front of the crowd, the crowd supports his point.

At this, Minister Gulab Devi interrupts and says, ‘I knew your eyes for a long time. Even when you were standing there, I knew your eyes. All these things are right for you, the ones you said. The time has not yet come.

This district comes under Chandausi assembly, where Gulab Devi is MLA. This video of Sanjay Rana’s questions is going viral on social media.

According to The Quint, after the incident, a local BJYM leader filed a complaint against Sanjay Rana for molestation and assault, and the police registered IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (disturbing the peace) in against Rana intentionally offensive) , and arrest them after registering a case under 506 (criminal intimidation).

Sanjay continues his questions even after his arrest in a video that has surfaced. Standing in a compound, Sanjay is seen saying in the video, ‘I had questioned and answered the minister. He had said that 75 lakhs are given for the development of the village, there is no account even 10 lakhs. I was asked about this, then I was brought here.

When someone asks why he was brought in handcuffs, Sanjay replies, ‘The minister said why this boy asked me questions.’ When asked about Shubham Raghav’s complaint of assault by climbing on stage, he says he did no such thing. He went there only after taking the secretary’s permission (to speak to the minister).

On the allegation of abuse, he says he has a video of the incident. And if anyone has the video of his abuse, please show it.

Regarding the registration of the FIR, he further says, ‘I have not done anything wrong… When someone gives wrong news that we have made so much development, but you have not done anything, then you raised objections, won. ‘t you!’

The opposition Samajwadi party has targeted the Yogi Adityanath government over Rana’s arrest.

Sharing the video of the incident in a tweet by the party, it was said, ‘When ground reporter Sanjay Rana asked questions on the issue of development to Gulab Devi, a minister in the BJP government in Sambhal, the minister put the journalist in the prison. .

If this is not a crisis and an undeclared dictatorship in the BJP government, then what is? The BJP only wants sycophancy journalism, is it banned from asking questions?

Aam Aadmi Party-Uttar Pradesh also attacked the government over this incident and said, ‘What kind of Amritkal is happening, where journalists are sent to jail for asking questions?’
