Indian Ambassador meets Sri Lankan Prime Minister- Dinamani
Indian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Gopal Bagley met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawadhana on Friday. At that time, it was discussed about attracting investments to Sri Lanka, which is stuck in financial crisis, and about improving tradition and skills.
India has been providing a lot of financial assistance to Sri Lanka to develop its economy. Last week, the Indian embassy officials held a consultation with the local officials of the country regarding the rescue of the country from debt.
It is said that due to India’s support, Sri Lanka has been assured of quick access to funds from international funds.
In this case, Indian Ambassador Gopal Bagley, who met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawadhana on Friday, discussed improving bilateral relations and attracting investments, the Indian Embassy said.
In Sri Lanka, which has a population of 2.2 crore, there is a severe shortage of food, fuel and medicines. Since last January, India has provided financial assistance of 4 billion dollars to the country.
