ECP reserves award in case of Karachi LG electionsNews WAALI

ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan yesterday reserved its decision in the case of Karachi local government (lG) elections. The ECP rejected the returning officer (RO) of Union Council 7 Sultanabad, Kemari. An investigation committee led by the provincial election commissioner was formed to conduct an investigation against the Returning Officer and he was ordered to submit a report immediately. This committee will examine the role of the Returning Officer and gather evidence on electoral fraud. The commission also appointed the regional election commissioner as the new Returning Officer who will record the statements of all candidates and provide the results within 7 days and reserve his decision in the case of Karchi LG polls.
