Rawalpindi: The City Police and the Punjab Human Transplantation Authority have arrested 13 suspects, including three doctors, involved in the sale of human kidneys.
According to the details, the heinous business of selling kidneys was exposed in Rawalpindi, the Punjab Human Transplantation Authority along with the police raided the Morgah private hospital.
During the raid, ten suspects including three doctors were arrested red-handed, and a patient’s kidney was said to be removed at the hospital.
Sources said that the arrested doctors were identified as Zahid, Athar and Abid, Rs 3 crore cash was recovered from the accused.
The police said that operations were being carried out at the private hospital since morning, during the operation a sixty-five-year-old man, Iftikhar, died, while another person was transferred to another hospital in a critical condition.
The arrested Dr Zahid has been booked in a case of extracting and selling kidneys, the police have registered a case and started further investigation.
