COVID-19 in Quebec: 10 new deaths, 20 more hospitalizationsNews WAALI

Quebec reported on Wednesday that the net number of patients in hospitals rose by 20 due to COVID-19.

The province’s hospitals are now treating 1,540 people for the novel coronavirus, including 37 in intensive care units, one more than 24 hours ago.

At the same time, 3,592 healthcare workers are absent from work due to COVID-19-related reasons.

The province also recorded 10 new deaths from the disease, bringing the total to 16,697.

After 11,077 PCR tests were analyzed, 915 came back positive, giving a positivity rate of 8.5 percent.

1,193,035 positive PCR tests have been logged since the pandemic began.

In addition, 158 positive self-declared antigen rapid tests were added, bringing the total to 242,522.

The Department of Health is monitoring 249 active COVID-19 outbreaks.

As of September 19, 12,995 samples were analyzed.

Healthcare professionals administered 21,874 vaccine doses, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 21,078,563.
