22 cases of H3N2 have been reported in Pune. 22 patients of ‘H3N2’ virus, which is a subtype of influenza A virus, have been found in Pune city. The National Institute of Virology has identified that most patients are in the age group of 19 to 60. This has confirmed that the epidemic of this virus has spread widely in Pune. The symptoms are similar to the common flu, so it is a non-life threatening relief.

On Monday itself, a meeting of officials was held under the chairmanship of Health Minister Tanaji Sawant regarding the H3N2 virus. In this meeting, the Minister of Health has ordered all the health systems in the state to be alert. All health systems were ordered to focus on the H3N2 virus. The Health Minister has called for such vigilance in Thane, Mumbai and Pune districts.

Also, it has been clarified that no restrictions have been implemented in the state yet.
