Naval exercises of five countries led by France have started from Monday in the Indian Ocean. Naval ships from India, the United States of America, Australia and Japan have joined the French Navy’s helicopter fleet in the exercise. It is a shared commitment to a rules-based Indo-Pacific.

Ambassador Emmanuel Lenin said the Lapey Rose exercise is a multilateral naval exercise aimed at promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between the participating countries. The exercise provides an excellent platform for the participating countries to improve their operational and tactical skills, better understand each other’s naval practices and improve their ability to work together in an international environment. The aim of the exercise is to deepen military-to-military ties between India and France, Russia and the United States.
