Another Tripura BJP MLA resigns from Assembly- Dinamani


Ruling BJP MLA and senior tribal leader Parba Mohan today resigned from the Tripura Assembly.

Along with Dibra Party leader Manikya Deb Burman, 67-year-old Barma Mohan submitted his resignation letter to Tripura Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty, official sources said.

Also, Parba Mohan and former Deputy Speaker of Tripura Assembly and senior BJP leader Gauri Shankar Riang will join his party on Friday evening, Deb Burman said.

Barba Mohan was elected to the state assembly from Garbuk, a tribal reservation seat in South Tripura’s Gomati district, in the 2018 elections of South Tripura.

Barba Mohan is the fourth BJP MLA to quit Tripura Assembly since last year.

Earlier, Ashish Das, Sudip Rai Burman and Ashish Kumar Saha had resigned from their post in May.
