Recently, the Bombay High Court announced its decision after considering the allegations on the film for misinterpreting the Holy Book Quran. Reportedly, the Bombay High Court has lifted the ban on the release of Hamare Baarah means the film will be released in theaters very soon, but with some controversial scenes being cut. Annu Kapoor’s controversial film in which he is portraying the role of a maulana, has got a clean chit from the high court. The matter of the controversial film Hamare Baarah went to the Bombay High Court due to the widespread outrage and protest against the film from the Muslim community. Originally, Hamare Baarah was scheduled to be released in cinemas in June 7, 2024, but the court issued a stay order on the film to avoid communal violence and outrage in the country. After so much deliberation, the Bombay Court announced its decision and suggested some scenes to be removed from the film.

While announcing its decision, a division bench of the Bombay High Court led by Justice BP Colabawalla and Justice Firdosh Pooniwalla said they did not find anything in the film that is objectionable to the Quran, Muslim women, or the community. The film also has no violence. Meanwhile, the court gave a clean chit to the film for its theatrical release. The order was passed by Justice Colabawalla and Justice Pooniwalla. The court also ordered the makers to remove a Quranic verse and a dialogue from the film and added two disclaimers of 12 seconds each in Hamare Baarah.

Bombay High Court allowed the makers of the film to release it in theaters only after removing the controversial dialogues from the film as per the instruction given by CBFC. The court believes that Hamare Baarah is actually for the upliftment of women. The division of judges also slammed the makers of the film for releasing the first trailer with objectionable scenes due to which the court has slapped a penalty of Rs 5 lakhs on the makers for releasing the film’s trailer without any certification from the Central Board of Film Certification.

In Hamare Baarah, Annu Kapoor who is playing the role of a Maulana misinterprets the Quran while another Muslim man objects to the preacher (Annu Kapoor) who tries to mislead the women. This film was initially scheduled to be released in theaters on Friday, June 7, 2024, but the film’s release date was pushed ahead on June 14, 2024. But due to legal issues, the film could not be released on its scheduled date. Now the makers will have to think again for the perfect window for the release of Hamare Baarah.
