ISLAMABAD: In the talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a consensus was reached on reforms and measures to be taken for them.
Sources say that the Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, met with the delegation of the IMF Chief Mission, the IMF Chief Mission told the Finance Minister about the progress in the negotiations so far.
The Head of the IMF Mission told the Minister of Finance, Ishaq Dar, that the draft of the negotiations on the Mutual Economic and Financial Policy (MEFP) is being prepared, the draft of the MEFP will be completed today.
The Head of IM Mission said that there had been a detailed discussion on the fiscal policies in the discussions today, that there was a consensus on the reforms and the steps taken as a result of the discussions.
Today was the ninth day of talks between the IMF delegation and Pakistan and tomorrow is the last day.
Earlier, the Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that the decisions taken in the discussions with the government and the IMF delegation were approved by the Prime Minister. Pakistan needs an agreement with the IMF, negotiations with the IMF are now moving towards the end of things.
